What? Where? How?
We realize that new clients have lots of questions and concerns
about bringing their loved dog to a cage-less facility. Below are some
answers to the most frequently asked questions. We hope these answers
will demonstrate that your dog will really enjoy their visits to
ruff life.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can my "Houdini" dog escape?
Absolutely not. Not only are all of our dog guests continually monitored
by our conscientious staff, but the facility has a series of double-door
gates, designed to make an escape impossible. Plus dogs have so
much fun at ruff life, they don't think about trying to leave.
Will other dogs attack my dog?
Absolutely not. We temperament test all dogs to make certain they
play well with other dogs and people. If they do not play nice,
they cannot attend.
What if my dog tries to attack another dog?
Our trained staff is here to prevent conflicts with other dogs.
Sometimes good dogs have a bad day, therefore all ruff life staff
are trained to detect any potential situations and will stop any
altercation before it occurs.
Will there be other dogs that are my dog's size and age?
Of course. Dogs of all ages, types and sizes come to play and relax
at ruff life. Your dog will find lots of canine friends and some
new human ones too. Depending on the size of the group on a given
day, we may divide them in to small play groups with similar energy.
Will there be dogs that are not neutered or spayed (not fixed)
at ruff life?
Absolutely Not. For safety reasons, we have a strict policy and
do not allow any dogs that are not neutered or not spayed at ruff
life (except pups that are too young for spay/neutering).
May I bring my dogs favorite toys, bowls or beds?
We would advise no. We have all of these things here at ruff life,
so you do not need to bring anything. In addition, we cannot ensure
that these things will remain intact.
My dog is used to drinking whenever he wants; can he do this
at ruff life?
Of course. There is always plenty of clean, fresh water available
for all.
My dog is used to eating whenever she wants, can she do this
at ruff life?
Unfortunately no. For sanitary reasons, we can't leave bowls of
food out; we feed breakfast and dinner to our overnight guests and
our daycare guests upon request. In addition, we are happy to add
any other feeding or snacks that are specially requested.
Can my dog play lots if he wants to?
Certainly. There are always other friendly dogs here that love to
play. If all other dogs are resting and your dogs wants to play,
ruff life staff will make certain that he gets all the play time
he needs.
Can my dog rest if she wants to?
For sure. If she wants to sack out while other dogs are playing there
are always couches, beds and blankets to lie down on. We place these
strategically so your dog can keep her back to the wall when sleeping,
because we know how important that is to dogs.
What if my dog goes to the bathroom inside?
Don't worry. The humans will clean it up immediately. ruff life
prides itself in being extremely clean and sanitary.
Will going to the bathroom inside make my dog forget or not learn
housetraining at home?
Absolutely not. Dogs know that different places have different rules.
They will remember housetraining when they are at home, no matter
how often they visit us.
Does my dog sleep alone at night?
Absolutely not. At ruff life, your dog will be supervised 24/7.
In the evening, your dog, and any other dog spending the night,
sleeps in the same area as the loving overnight staff member. All
dogs are welcome to the California king-sized bed. If your dog is
not a snuggler, they can crash out on any of the comfy dog beds
on the floor. It is just a big sleepover with the rest of the pack.
What if my dog is injured or becomes sick while at ruff life?
Humans are here to make sure your dog is safe. If there is an unfortunate
circumstance and something happens that is beyond ruff life's control,
all of our staff members are trained in canine first aid and CPR.
We also have your emergency contact and veterinary information to
ensure the best of care will be taken.
If you have any additional questions that we have not answered,
